You know, feeding snails with various types of edible substances will result in various colors of snail poop. For example, if you feed it with cucumbers today and carrots the next day, you will end up with green and ruddy poops.
(For some mysterious reason, feeding green leaves results in black instead of green. I've never figured out why that didn't work.)
I wonder, would the color trick work with slugs? =3

Heh. Because I'm a huge dork, I know that my hand from the tip of my middle finger to the heel is almost exactly six inches long, and the first joint of my thumb is almost exactly an inch long... so I held my hand about an inch away from the slug and made a rough estimate. Cough.

The phrase "Coolest thing ever" would sum up this phenomena a little bit better if it was actually phrased, "EYW! GROSS! YUCK! BLECHHHHH!!!!!" You have one messed up sense of 'cool.' O.O;;
I once accidentally stepped on a slug who was merely 3 inches at most, in my BARE FEET and in the dark and have not been able to shake the trauma of the experience since. Stepping on one 7 inches long would not make it any less traumatic or gross, no matter what time of day it was. *shuuuuuudder*

What's really, REALLY cool it what happens to a seven in slug when you cover it with half a box of table salt.

Wow. That is very cool. If I didn't hate centipedes so much the time I saw a 7 inch long centipede would probably count as cool too. (ewww). What's really neat are banana slugs. They are longer (I think) and bright yellow!

Rad! While I was overseas, I ran afoul of a nasty lil' crawlie- bright green, eyestalks, no less than seven inches long. Coolest thing about it, though, was the fact that it looked as if it were about to explode- literally, the skin on this thing was stretched TIGHT o_o;.
