WARNING: Pointless rant.
Ahem.

I am not a fucking vacuum cleaner.

I almost feel like I should not say anything about this, due to sensitivity reasons....
But I will say I understand, and I understand it's the case with many people. People make fun, and there are stereotypes and bad jokes, and when you get down to it, I realize there should not be any of these things. But I know. I do know.
Besides, I judge by character, not looks. And you're a shining star, Moon! =^_^=

You're entirely right in being pissed off at the stereotype. Nezumi has known a lot of large folks, and only one or two out of that number has been a big eater.
Most of the people Nezumi knows who get fat get that way not because of eating too much. It's because they're usually dirt poor and can't afford good, nutritious foods. Cheap foods like no-name macaroni & cheese are /much/ more fattening than their name-brand equivalent, which is no great shakes to start with. But hey, when you've only got five bucks to feed your family tonight, you use what you have at hand. Nezumi's seen this over and over again.
The lack of exercise is a good part of it, though. Good for you for getting active. Best thing in the world. Even if you don't drop many pounds, you'll feel great.

Alas, poor Moon carries a lot of genetic baggage. Members of her gene pool will gain weight on a "normal" diet of 2,000 calories per day. In order to maintain a constant weight, males can eat no more than 1,500 cal/day, and the females probably no more than 1,200 cal/day. Think how little this is. To loose weight, these numbers must be undercut by a significant amount. I did not get control of my weight problem intil I was almost 60, and although still overweight, I have maintained my weight fairly even over the last 10 years. I know all of the heartbreak associated with obesity, but, again, alas, it is worse for women than men. But, I can reassure Moon, that all is not lost. Our lousy gene pool also provides us with robust good health, excellent cardiovascular systems, and low cholesterol levels. We are blessed with longevity and relative freedom from disease. The biggest problems are dealing with the social discrimination that comes with it. Love you, Moon, keep your spirits up.

Being nowhere near "skinny" myself, I understand Moon. All...too...God...damn...well!
Father Moon, I just went "Awwwwwww! That's so sweet!" at what you posted. Moonie, you should give your dad a Big Hug!

I also have known many fat people... however, only one of them, my brother, is an actual food vacuum.
And on a personal note, I really despise it when people knock themselves or others for being plump, especially when said fat person's eating and exercise habits are reasonably healthy. This feeling stems from a rather... personal experience involving the esteem of someone I love(d), so I won't go into that... but I still just hate how people think it's wrong to be fat...
So, preach it, Moonie!

I have a "weight problem", too, but it's the opposite weight problem. Anywho, about exercise: I like running. Not walking, not jogging: running. I'm guessing that's not your thing, but a little exercise each day sure can make you feel better.
Please do let us know when you are able to bench Boyfriend.

Oh boy, can I relate. Well about the overweight thing. I am fat too, but I know I have a problem with food. I also have a problem with exercise. Not everyone has these same problems, and they can be overweight too. Its very unfair that people judge others by their weight, and believe that because they are thin, they are morally superior. Thank you for your blogs Moon, I have fat genes too, so I can relate to that.

Indeed (to the original rant)... thanks to people who say things like that and various other factors, I've grown up believing not only that I am ugly and unlovable (that much is true ^_~), but smelly, disgusting, clumsy, stupid, and pathetic. Lovely.
Tell me, world, hypothetically speaking, what precisely do people intend to accomplish by saying stupid, stereotypical crap like that? They know nothing about the people they're insulting, and their comments certainly don't do anything to fix the "problem". The old excuse "They just feel bad about themselves" doesn't hold water with me. Honestly. What in hell is the use of all of that? People don't need to be reminded of what flaws they have, many of them ARE working on changing them, and what good does it do to make up flaws that don't even freaking exist?
...pfft. Enough inanity. Done.

Am I alone in always wanting to bitchslap the actors that play the fat, dumb, annoying guy in movies?

Hear hear, Mae!
It's offensive when negative personality traits are always tied to physical obesity in movies. It's stupid, and it's shallow, and I think a big factor in why people end up making fun of overweight people so much.
Mooncalf: You are such a bright, intelligent, and wonderful person. You have a vibrant personality that many many people lack! Your weight will NEVER affect or be a factor in my friendship with you, and it probably isn't to your true friends either. :D Anyway... good luck, man! I wish you lived closeby so we could go on hikes or something ;_;
