06/05/2002 Entry: "Wow."

I'm usually not much for 'link-and-comment' entries, but:

This is the most charming and wonderful news report I have seen in a long, long, long time.

Dear god, I hope it's true.

Wow. That really is neat! And it certainly gives you something to think about concerning "It's the thought that counts". Now, there will be people who will not be able to fathom how sacred a mere cow is to these people, but think about all the stupid things that "regular" American people consider special, even sacred. I'm not saying the COWS are stupid; I'm saying that modern people consider a lot of stupid things so important. And these VERY simple people offer a VERY simple gift of sympathy, and....it's just wow! I think it's a very wonderful thing, and I hope people will think about it (although I know they won't...).

My only question is....who GETS these cows, and what will happen to them when they get here??? I hope they are looked after and not killed. These are cows I would not want to be eaten.

I'm gladdened at how many people are actually willing to understand what this gift means to the giver as much as the receiver. This is the sort of Good News we simply don't get enough of.

Thanks for posting it! That's certainly given me a smile for the day ^_^

Man...thats just the type of thing that brings a smile to your face. It really does put the emphasis on the phrase "It's the thought that counts". It also shows a bit of cultural difference. I mean..here...in the USA...we see cow..we think "Hamburger". In there country...they see a cow..they think "Holy Symbol!" You know...some people just deserve a little present from whatever god is up there...that country deserves one of those gifts.(This does not fall under ANY circumstances of anything id normally say)

That was a very nice story to come out Moon. I would never have heard it otherwise. I think we are used to bad news so much and its a shame when there are nice stories like that out there that some people may never hear about.
