1. Seen that done before -- and better -- in The Fifth Element.
Seen that done before -- and much better -- in Romeo and Juliet.
Seen that done before -- and better -- in Episode Freaking I.
2. Despite the fact that we are all Americans here, George, more does not necessarily equal better.
3. ... well! That was unnecessarily pastoral.
4. ... was that supposed to be dialogue?
5. Someone's been watching too many of those Warner Brothers cartoons that involve sleepwalkers or babies being set loose on construction sites.
6. Mmm, pretty.
7. Mmm, stupid.
8. It's about time you picked up a lightsaber.
9. You, too.
10. Mmm, Christopher Lee.
11. Mmm, unnecessary special effects.
12. The Imperial March still taps directly into my nervous system and makes me sit up straight. Mmmmmmmmm.

Ah...The Fifth Element. I remember seeing that with my dad, only to record it 3 years later off TNT and leave the tape in a place where my mom could pick it up and watch it to see what it was all about.
"David, this movie is so stupid."
I don't agree, personally, but oh well. My mom can have her old stinky movies.

And, of course, the ROWS AND ROWS OF TEMUERA MORRISONS.

Heh. Most of the rows of Temuera Morrison were masked though....
I can't deny I had some....similar thoughts about E II. And yet, I just can't help but like it! I just....can't. I liked it.
Christopher Lee was one of my top reasons to see this movie. Period. And his action figure kicks major arse!! Unfortunaetly, I don't have one! *cry* Christopher Walken was rumored to have been selected to play the part of Lee's character, or a different character, who still could show up in E III, so I won't spoil that one. But let me say, since he obviously is not in E II, there go my dreams of owning a Christopher Walken action figure.... *cry*
I think that, like E I, it serves as good groundwork for E III, and the original trilogy. I can't wait for E III even more, now!! *_*
Rejoicing there shall be. I have foreseen it.

Errg, what's her face. Milla. Two male friends of mine at the time I first saw "Fifth" were about ready to start a minor religion around that chick. ;) Fanboys...
Though the best 5th El. thing I've ever heard is that a semiretired female impersonator friend of my mom's said that his dream was to do a routine as Plaga Laguna (sp?), the blue alien opera singer.
Now, dude, that thought bends the brain. (Um, or maybe that's just the frame of my mind at this hour...)

Fifth Element... check.
Bladerunner-ish bit... check
Return of the Jedi bit... check
Episode I bit... check
Yoka kicking ass... check!
Now, will someone tell me why all the little bits of story weren't turned into one real story? There were loads of visual references, and loads of scrappy little bits of plot but nothing tied them all together. It all felt so _bitty_.

Actually, my brother and I both liked it MUCH better than episode 1, merely for the reason that there was any part in which we were bored this time. Even if it was a /bad/ part, and there were plenty, it was so easy to laugh at. But alas, not so slashable as Ep 1. Don't think we'll be seeing as many doujinshi out there this time

Did you notice there were these prototype (or at least primative) AT-ATs wandering around during the big battle scenes? Who do I pray to to ask that Jar-Jar gets stood on by one of those?
"Meesa flat and dead! Ouch!"
