05/19/2002 Entry: "Waaaaah."

Oh, this is just not fair.

So Boyfriend and I were in line to get into the theater for Episode II. There were about... fifteen people in front of us. The theater is a big one. And you know, man, Ep. II, opening weekend.
And about thirty minutes before the movie starts, my guts suddenly get my attention by knotting up in the worst way and say, "Look, honey, you've got maybe fifteen minutes to get home before I do something we'll both regret an awful lot. And then you'll have to spend the next six hours within thirty seconds' run of the toilet. Okay? Okay."

I made Boyfriend stay and see the movie. I mean, we'd already bought our tickets and everything. And I managed to drive myself home, cramps and all, without doing anything horrible to the car.

So, anyway, half an hour later. I'm feeling a little better now, but I'm still grouchily sick and getting occasionally pummeled by internal fists. Goddammit, I'm missing Ep. II for this?

(Oh, and Anime North isn't happening for me. Post-9/11 they've tightened the borders a lot and neither of us have easy access to our passports.)

Yay, first post! ^_^

Moon, I totally know how you feel. It's not easy giving up something you really want to do because of personal debilitation(sp?). Maybe you can see it next weekend, hm?

I'm sorry too, Moon. I know EXACTLY how you feel. Due in part that I have also been experiencing awfully similar feelings in my stomach as well. Not in the last week and a half or so, however, but still recently. For example, on the rehearsal for my brother's wedding last month.... *_* I thought I might be sick ON the wedding day!! But in the end, I was fine. And you know, I felt some discomfort when I went to a movie recently too, only it was when I saw Spider-Man, and it wasn't that bad. In time, it went away at the movie.

Still, VERY sorry you had to experience that. And at E II no less..... :( I hope you can see it soon!! I saw it myself, and it's great! But you prolly already know that from Boyfriend, huh? ^_'

Hmmmm.... you really shouldn't need your passport to cross the Canadian border. I've lived near the border my whole life, have crossed it many times, and have only *rarely* been asked for any kind of ID, even post 9/11. A driver's license or other kind of photo ID should be perfectly fine.
Unless, of course, you happen to not be a US citizen.

Aww, Moon TT. Luckily for you, I remember enough of the movie to faithfully recreate the screenplay using these sock puppets! (brandishes sad cloth excuses for Jedi Knights, bounty hunters, and clone troppers).

Or I can do the whole thing in mime. Your pick ^_-.

Yeah, you shouldn't need a passport to cross the Canadian border. Especially going *into* Canada. I never have a problem going back in. Going down to the US gives me headaches. Call this an unfair generalization, but your customs officers are assholes. ;P But a birth certificate and photo ID should be fine.

Yeah, the Canadians are pretty lax (no pun intended. ^^;;) I've gone in with my family twice, and it goes really quick. I think one of the things you can't bring into the country is food, or something like that, and we had huge bags full of sandwiches and mangos and logans and such. Heck, I remember *eating* logans. The authorities just looked at the food, which were in plain view, looked at my uncle (the driver), asked for his ID, and then let us through, wishing us all a good trip. We, of course, had our birth certificates, but there were eight of us in the car, and I think the officer didn't want to bother.

Then there was the time when my other uncle forgot his driver's liscense at home in Grand Rapids, MI, and only had his pharmacy ID and some credit cards with him. Amazingly, they let him through.

And then there are some critics who might actually compare your digestive problems with the actual viewing of Episode II... I have yet to make up my mind. I lapsed into a mental coma for the first hour and a half.

Hmmm, passports eh? I just got one this year. All I can say about passport photos is ....eww. Sorry to hear you were not going to be at the animenorth. I don't think I'll be going either. Airfares are unreasonable for me, and I would have to stay in a hotel (again too much money and bother). Sorry to hear about your stomache. Bye!
