02/27/2002 Entry: "Deeeeeep Thoughts. Brief Ones, Thankfully."

Briefly, because I feel philosophical but too impatient to work with it:

Remember, friends, life is short, but it's wide.

Getting off the narrow path is as easy (and as hard, really, nothing's harder) as going where your heart leads you, if only once in a great while. Succumbing to impulse when you have an hour to spare.

Even just doing something that you don't have to be doing. Creating something for the love of doing so. Finding the small ways to be generous. Learning to smile and let it go.

So, hey, step off that narrow road and join us over here. We're having a barbecue!

I could probably make some sort of "girth vs. length" joke here, but I just can't muster the motivation, so just pretend I did.

yes - one of those nasty disorganised barbeques with people leaving their waste scattered around the grass, lounging around doing nothing. There is no singular purpose, but you seem happy. That from the Devil's advocate in me. Otherwise, I'd just like to comment that it _is_ damn hard because it's so easy. I'm not just typing this because it sounds nice. I'm talking about freeing yourself from restraints and noticing that the people you support and am dependent on can't cope. Choosing between freedom and love makes for a stalemate for the time being.
So I'm probably not joining. But I promise I won't frown ^_^
(this from the 'it's late but I'm not tired and I'll never do this again because you don't know me'- department ;) Love and slack.

Amen, Moon. Kind of reminds me of an Enya song called 'Pilgrim'....
Can't recal the exact lyrics at the moment though.... *_*

Yet another one of the things that is so true that I wish I had said it myself.

Way to go Moon!

BTW, what's on the barbecue? And is there any cold beer?

Ixnay on the beer myself, but a barbecue sounds quite spiffy.
