So I hang around in this chatroom on IRC with a bunch of really nice female friends (and the occasional male hanger-on). And we got into a very strange mood just now, and after comparing our lives, we came to this conclusion:
All guys named Nathan are evil.
No, seriously. Two of us had ex-boyfriends named Nathan (in relationships that came to very bad ends). One of us has a cousin named Nathan who's a total evil brat. One of us has a STALKER named Nathan. Then there's the friend-of-a-friend Nathan who is being raised by a scary racist mother... and when I mentioned this strange coincidence to another friend on ICQ, he came right back with 'I've only ever known one Nathan in my life, and he was a monster'.
None of us could think of a single decent Nathan in our lives. Just the bad ones. I grow afraid.
Mothers, don't let your babies grow up to be Nathan.

hey! I knew a nathan in my sculpture class last semester and he seemed decent. I had a crush on him too. ^^ I guess I narrowly averted disaster by not getting involved with him huh?

Hmmm does it have to be Nathan specifically? Because I knew two Nates who should be flayed alive and the name Nathaniel is kinda nice. Then again, I guess they all do boil down to Nathan. *makes point to avoid them all*

I also have the same question about Nates. A friend of mine knew 2 Nates, one of them ended up to be racist (so he's evil) but the other one seemed okay. But I don't know what happened to him...
This is kind of scary....

I have a similar problem with guys named 'Nick'. Never met a single Nick I could stand.
Between those jerks (there were three of them that all hung out together) that ruined every good thing about my highschool, to the guy who started stalking me because I talked to him a couple times on ICQ (he found out where I worked and even showed up there a few times...he called my house and yelled at my brother for not giving me his messages ..I was away at school at the time), the whole situation was severely uncool. (on the bright side, the guy was disabled, so at least I could run faster than he could).
Oh, and my brother's friend Nick turned on him and beat him up.
Maybe it's an 'N' thing.

One of our housemates was a Nathan, and he wasn't evil. Then again, he just moved out and we're paying extra rent again, so maybe you could consider that evil.
Then again, a recent... visitor to the chatroom you're talking about was also a Nathan. Okay, you win.

Okay, I'm saying even if their name is Nathan but they go by Nate they count because I knew this one Nate from highschool who's a TOTAL jerk off. His name just came up the other day, oddly enough-- and evidently he's really really messed up so I shouldn't be too harsh.
Then again, take me boyfriend's dad Nate-- from what I heard he was REAL REAL bad-- then in the last few years he married a Korean lady half his age and has like completely turned around. He's a great guy now. So, there's hope for some of them.

I only know one Nathan. He's a good guy, but .. horny. Very horny. And he lead a friend around on an emotional leash. And he cheated on his girlfriend with two girls.

Weird!! A couple of my friends came to that same conclusion about a year ago. We were talking about my brother (Nathan) and the second trumpet in the band (Nathan) and her ex-boyfriend (Nathan). Go figure, we aren't the only ones!
